About Darren Sim

Darren Sim is an experienced regional product technology leader with hands-on experience traversing product engineering and product ownership. His experience spans product centric organisations and complex matrix-based multi nationals.

Currently serving as the Regional Director of Digital and Connected Commerce at one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, Darren leads the regional definition, design implementation, and execution of a comprehensive Digital & Connected Commerce strategy, integrating elements across diverse functional areas, including commercialisation, supply chain, compliance, and go-to-market approaches, aligned to strategic business imperatives.

Prior to his current role, Darren has spent over 19 years serving across various product engineering roles (Engineering Manager, Engineering Practice Lead, Security Researcher & Policy Development) in New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States.

Drawing upon a background of change management, design thinking, system thinking, lean/agile/learning theories, product management and hands-on development, Darren brings unique perspectives, tightly blending technical, product, organisational and leadership concerns.

An eight-time Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), Darren has been an invited speaker to over 20 conferences in Asia and the United States, and co-author to several articles in leading software engineering and scientific journals.

A SMU scholar, Darren earned his BSc in Information System from the Singapore Management University (SMU), Certificate in Disruptive Strategy from the Harvard Business School, and is currently pursuing a Global Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Manchester.

Darren is trained in TOGAF 9.2 & SAFe , and certified as a SCRUM Master & Product Owner.
